The Journey
Dear Aspirants,
With vast experience in the IAS coaching field, I have dedicated myself to being a catalyst in implementing our Chairman, Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray Sir’s vision—to restore West Bengal’s legacy as a leading state in producing top bureaucrats for the nation. Before independence, Bengal dominated the Indian Civil Services, but in the post-independence era, its presence has gradually declined. My dream is to once again see more and more students from Bengal serving the country as IAS, IPS, and IFS officers.
To achieve this vision, I left a highly rewarding and important position at Vajiram & Ravi and began this mission in Bengal so that more aspirants from our state can succeed in the Civil Services Examination. For over 12 years, I worked at Vajiram & Ravi, India’s premier IAS Academy. During this period, I contributed in almost every aspect of UPSC preparation—Current Affairs, Prelims Test Series, Mains Test Series, Yellow Books content, website content, and course designing. I was also part of strategic decisions, worked closely with thousands of aspirants, solved their academic and personal challenges, and managed student support. This rich experience gave me a deep understanding of what exactly an aspirant needs to clear the IAS exam.
Alongside my professional journey, I have personally written the UPSC Mains examination four times, which provides me with first-hand insight into the challenges faced by aspirants. Academically, I hold a Political Science Honours degree and an MA from Delhi University, further strengthening my subject expertise.
After more than a decade at Vajiram & Ravi, I could have continued there with a secure career. But my heart told me to do something greater for my own people, my own state. That is why I returned to West Bengal and founded RICE IAS—to bring Delhi-level UPSC guidance right here to Bengal.
My dream is to see West Bengal rise again among the top states producing India’s finest bureaucrats. I want aspirants from Bengal not only to dream of becoming IAS/IPS officers but also to achieve it—with the right mentorship, resources, and strategy.
