Organizational Structure and Governance
- Legal Status & Foundation: Incorporated on July 31, 2008, under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 (Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013).
- Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model: The Government of India through the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) holds 49% share capital, while 51% is held by the private sector via 10 business associations such as CII, FICCI, and NASSCOM (5.1% each).

- Sector Skill Councils (SSCs): 36 operational, autonomous industry-led bodies incubated by NSDC to bridge industry needs and workforce competencies.
- Flagship Schemes: Includes Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) for short-duration training, PM Vishwakarma for traditional artisans, and the NSDC Non-Funded Partnership Scheme.
