- A Foreign OEM is a company based outside India that originally designs and manufactures a defence platform, weapon system, equipment or its components.
- For example, when an Indian company partners with the original overseas manufacturer of a defence system to produce or maintain that system in India, the overseas manufacturer is the Foreign OEM.
