The Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD), under Digital India Corporation (DIC), MeitY, organised a BHASHINI session at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, bringing together Nepalese developers, students and innovators.

Key Highlights of the Nepal BHASHINI Session

• It was held at the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, marking the first BHASHINI session in Nepal, with participation from developers, students and innovators.
• Through live demonstrations, Q&A and BHASHINI APIs, participants explored the Develop, Solve, Scale and Innovate with BHASHINI framework to convert real-world problems into prototypes and scalable multilingual solutions.
• Leadership & Community Building: The CEO of Digital India BHASHINI Division(DIBD), represented DIBD and encouraged the development of a collaborative Language AI innovation community for diverse linguistic needs.

• Digital India BHASHINI Division (DIBD) is a MeitY initiative that uses AI to make digital services available in multiple languages.
• It supports 36 Indian text languages, 23 Indian voice languages and 35 international languages, making technology easier to access for people across languages.
• BHASHINI powers 800+ government websites and processes 24+ million AI-based language requests daily, strengthening multilingual Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI).

Significance for India-Nepal Cooperation

• Extends the BHASHINI ecosystem to a South Asian neighbour, supporting cross-border developer and academic exchange.
• It also emphasises India–Nepal collaboration in building an inclusive technology ecosystem that makes digital services accessible to diverse linguistic communities.
