Prof. (Dr.) Samit Ray has been the life and soul behind RICE Education since it was established in 1985. Prof. Ray started his career as a software professional in the 1980s and quickly realized that not many candidates from West Bengal were able to qualify for the state and national competitive examinations.
RICE Education began with a single classroom and a small group of students in the northern fringes of Kolkata. Reaping the benefits of the courses at RICE, countless candidates from the state have gone on to secure government jobs.
Today, the name RICE Group is synonymous with success in Bengal — and the man who has always held the reins to steer us toward excellence is Prof. Samit Ray.

Dear Students,
If Bengal must rise again in power, dignity, and influence—whether in education, innovation, culture, or administration—we must nurture a new generation of leaders who can directly shape the destiny of our state and our nation. And that path lies through the Civil Services Examination.
The soil of Bengal has always produced brilliance—our students are intelligent, hardworking, and full of potential. Yet, too often their dreams remain limited to becoming doctors or engineers. Our call is higher. Bengal must once again produce more IAS and IPS officers who will stand at the forefront of governance and nation-building.
We need more Subhas Chandra Boses to inspire courage, more Satyendranath Tagores to uphold Bengal’s proud legacy in the Indian Civil Services. This is our true mission—to guide you with the right training, exam-oriented study materials, and a nurturing ecosystem so you can succeed in the UPSC exam.
Our slogan, “Delhi Chalo”, will find its true meaning only when students of Bengal march to Delhi as future administrators, decision-makers, and changemakers. Through your success, Bengal will rise, and India will prosper.
