- The National Digital Repository (NDR) is the central digital platform being established under the Gyan Bharatam Mission to preserve, manage and provide secure access to India’s manuscript heritage. It serves as a single national repository for digitised manuscripts collected from universities, libraries, museums, archives, religious institutions and private custodians across the country.

| About Gyan Bharatam Mission (GBM) The National Digital Repository (NDR) is a key component of the Gyan Bharatam Mission (GBM), a Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Culture, announced in the Union Budget 2025–26. The Mission aims to survey, document, digitise, conserve and promote India’s manuscript heritage through advanced digital technologies. It also seeks to establish a National Manuscript Survey, support manuscriptology and research in Indian languages, and preserve manuscripts irrespective of language, script, region or knowledge tradition. |
