About Men’s Hockey Asia Cup
- The Men’s Hockey Asia Cup is a quadrennial international field hockey tournament organised by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), with the winner earning direct qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup.
- The inaugural edition was held in Karachi, Pakistan, in 1982, featuring seven teams in a round-robin format; host Pakistan won all six matches to become the first champions, with India taking silver and China bronze.
- Junior Asia Cup Hockey 2026: India won the men’s and women’s Junior Asia Cup titles in Moqi, China, with the men defeating South Korea 4–1 and the women defeating China 1–0 in the finals.
Women’s and Junior Asia Cups
- The Women’s Hockey Asia Cup, founded in 1985 in Seoul, has been won by China, South Korea and Japan (3 titles each) and India (2 titles); China won the 2025 Hangzhou final 4-1 against India.
- At the 2026 Junior Asia Cup in Moqi, China, India retained the men’s junior title for a record 6th crown, and won the women’s junior final 1-0 against China.
