About C-DOT
- C-DOT is India’s premier telecom research and development (R&D) organization working on indigenous telecom technologies and digital network solutions.
- It functions as an autonomous telecom technology centre under the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications.
- Established in August 1984 by the Government of India.
- Registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
- Recognized as a Public Funded Research Institution by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
Aim
- To design, develop, and deploy indigenous telecom technologies suited to India’s diverse and large-scale communication needs.

- Fraud Detection: Developed FraudPro for real-time AI/ML facial deduplication and network pattern analysis (powers Sanchar Saathi).
- Technology Transfer (ToT): Licenses designs to domestic firms to build an Indian manufacturing ecosystem.
- Rural & Digital Support: Historically expanded rural connectivity via Rural Automatic Exchanges (RAX); supports BharatNet and Digital India.
