Digital Compliance Mechanism (Shram Suvidha Portal)

  • Objective: Launched on October 16, 2014, to consolidate labor inspection data and streamline enforcement.
  • Unified Identification: Assigns a unique Labour Identification Number (LIN) to units, facilitating online registration.
  • Simplified Filing: Enables industries to file a simplified, self-certified single online return covering 16 out of 44 labor laws.
  • Accountability: Mandates labor inspectors to upload inspection reports within 72 hours to ensure transparency.
  • Grievance Redressal: Focuses on timely resolution of disputes and performance monitoring via key indicators.

Transparent Oversight (Labour Inspection Scheme)

  • Arbitrariness Reduction: Utilizes a computerized generation system for inspection lists based on pre-determined objective criteria to minimize human bias.
  • Evidence-Based Action: Complaint-based inspections are determined centrally after examining data and evidence.
  • Emergency Protocol: Includes provisions for an emergency inspection list to address serious cases under specific circumstances.

Workforce Portability (Universal Account Number – UAN)

  • Unique ID: Allots a UAN to workers, linked with Aadhar and bank accounts to ensure accurate KYC compliance.
  • Coverage: Facilitates service portability and benefits tracking for approximately 4.17 crore subscribers.

Skill Development Support (Apprentice Protsahan Yojana)

  • Financial Incentive: Supports manufacturing units by reimbursing 50% of the stipend paid to apprentices during their first two years of training.
